Cayman Bracis an island that is part of theCayman Islands. It lies in theCaribbean Seaabout 145km (90mi) north-east ofGrand Caymanand 8km (5.0mi) east ofLittle Cayman. It is about 19km (12mi) long, with an average width of 2km (1.2mi). Its terrain is the most prominent of the threeCayman Islandsdue to "The Bluff", alimestoneoutcrop that rises steadily along the length of the island up to 43m (141ft) above sea level at the eastern end. The island is named after this prominent feature, as "brac" is aGaelicname for a bluff.

TheTeignmouth Electron, the boat in whichDonald Crowhurstattempted to sail round the world single-handed in theSunday Times Golden Globe Race, has been left to decay on the south coast of Cayman Brac.
